Climate Variables

Knowledge of climate often focuses on aspects that directly affect daily life, such as temperature, precipitation, windiness, and solar radiation near the surface of the Earth. These common climate variables, particularly temperature and precipitation, are observed hourly by many weather stations around the globe.

But local climate also is influenced by factors not directly experienced by human beings, such as the large-scale atmospheric circulation and its interactions with large-scale ocean currents and land features such as albedo, vegetation, and soil moisture.
