CARA Tools: Understanding the consequences of change

The CARA project has developed a suite of decision support tools and tutorials to provide you with background information about how decisions you make could be affected by climate and land use change. These tools are targeted for the mid-Atlantic region, so take a minute and learn more about the impacts of climate and land use change in your area!

• The Energy Tool enables calculating your energy use and links to suggestions for conserving energy.
• The Water Resources Tool covers the supply of water and its quality.
• The Watershed Evaluation tool
• The Low-Flow Calculator Tool is a web application that tells you how river flow might be affected by future climate change in your area.
• The Agriculture Tool covers agricultural production and related environmental impacts.
• The Ecosystem Tool identifies an area’s sensitive ecological resources.

• CaraViz Application
  • CaraViz lets you explore in-depth information at local and regional scales including historical climate and climate predictions, socio-economic factors likely to be influenced by changes in climate and land use, and much more. You can create maps, graphs, tables, charts, and text from the data sets you explore.
